14일 원주시에 따르면, 시는 지난 11일 원주시청소년수련관에서 지역 청소년 10명이 참석한 가운데 ‘원주시청소년참여위원회 위촉식’을 개최하고 올해의 활동을 시작했다.
원주시청소년참여위원회는 청소년기본법에 근거해 운영되는 대표적인 청소년 참여 기구다. 청소년들이 지역 정책 수립 과정에 직접 참여해 의견을 제안하고 권익을 증진하는 등 청소년 친화적인 환경을 조성하는 데 중추적인 역할을 담당한다.
이날 위촉된 10명의 위원은 위촉장을 수여받고, 향후 위원회 활동 방향과 청소년 참여 활성화를 위한 각오를 다지는 시간을 가졌다. 이들은 올 한 해 동안 ▲청소년 정책 제안 ▲청소년의회 참여 ▲청소년 교류 행사 개최 ▲정책 모니터링 활동 등을 통해 지역사회 곳곳에 청소년들의 생생한 시각을 반영할 계획이다.
