14일 서산초서 1학년 아이들과 짝꿍 되어 수업·급식 체험
수어 통역 지원 등 무장애 평생교육 확대… 5월엔 음암초서 이어가
충남 서산시가 배움의 기회를 놓친 청각·언어장애 어르신들을 위해 아주 특별한 책가방을 선물했다.
시는 14일 서산초등학교에서 성인문해교육 마을학교 수강생인 청각·언어장애 어르신 12명을 대상으로 일일 학교 체험 프로그램인 **‘할머니 학교가유’**를 운영했다고 밝혔다.
이날 학교를 찾은 어르신들은 70여 년 전 이루지 못했던 입학의 설렘을 안고 초등학교 1학년 교실에 들어섰다. 어르신들은 증손주뻘인 학생들과 나란히 앉아 서로 소통하며 그림 그리기 중심의 통합 수업을 함께했다.
수업 후에는 난생처음 학교 급식을 체험하며 실제 초등학생이 된 듯한 일과를 보냈다. 특히 서산시는 의사소통에 어려움이 없도록 수어 통역사를 현장에 배치해 어르신들이 수업 내용과 아이들의 웃음소리를 온전히 느낄 수 있도록 세심하게 지원했다.
