[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 초전공원 내 조성된 정원에 봄꽃을 추가 식재해 계절의 변화를 반영한 다채로운 경관을 조성해 시민들에게 새로운 봄 정취를 선사하고 있다.
이번 정원은 ‘대한민국 정원산업박람회’ 당시 조성된 12곳으로 기존 정원의 특성을 유지하면서 봄철에도 즐길 수 있도록 계절감을 보완하는 데 중점을 뒀다.
이곳에는 동행 정원과 코리아 가든 쇼, 모델 정원 등 다양한 형태의 정원이 포함돼 있으며 각 정원마다 개성을 살리면서도 봄꽃 식재를 통해 색감과 생동감을 더했다.
이번 작업은 시민정원사 교육생과 정원사협회 회원들이 함께 참여해 의미를 더했으며 시민이 직접 가꾸는 참여형 정원 모델도 선보이고 있다.
참여자들은 정원 곳곳에 봄꽃을 심으며 공간에 계절의 색채를 입히고, 시민들이 보다 가까이에서 자연과 정원을 즐길 수 있도록 힘을 보탰다.
진주시 관계자는 “이번 봄꽃 식재로 초전공원 정원은 계절적 다양성이 더해져 시민들에게 풍성한 볼거리와 휴식 공간을 제공하게 됐다”고 말했다.
이어 그는 “앞으로도 계절에 맞는 정원 관리와 시민 참여를 확대해 사계절 내내 즐길 수 있는 정원 환경을 조성해 나가겠다”고 덧붙였다.
