이에 따라 군은 지난 2월부터 관내 화목보일러 사용 가구를 대상으로 산불감시원과 읍·면 직원이 매주 1회 현장을 찾아 연통 관리 상태와 인화물질 보관 여부, 재처리 실태 등을 집중 점검하고 있다.
아울러 현장 중심의 안전교육도 병행하며 화재 취약 요인 사전 차단에 힘쓰고 있다.
이번에 배부하는 재처리 용기는 불씨가 남아 있는 재를 안전하게 담아 자연 냉각한 뒤 처리할 수 있도록 제작됐으며, 배부는 4월 말까지 마무리할 예정이다.
군 관계자는 “건조한 시기에는 작은 불씨 하나가 대형산불로 이어질 수 있는 만큼 반드시 전용 용기를 사용하고, 재가 완전히 식은 뒤 처리해 달라”고 당부했다.
한편 군은 이번 조치를 통해 주민들의 자율적인 화재 예방 실천을 유도하고, 봄철 산불 예방에도 큰 효과를 거둘 것으로 기대하고 있다.
