포항강소특구육성센터는 21일 포항 체인지업그라운드에서 지역 중소·벤처기업과 유관기관 관계자 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026년 포항 강소연구개발특구 사업설명회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 설명회는 포항강소특구 2단계 사업(2025~2029년)이 본격화되는 시점에 맞춰 올해 주요 지원사업과 추진 방향을 공유하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 행사에는 포항테크노파크, 경상북도경제진흥원, NICE평가정보 등이 참여해 기업 성장 단계별 맞춤형 지원사업을 소개하며 높은 관심을 모았다.
포항강소특구는 첨단 신소재 분야를 중심으로 유망기업 발굴과 육성에 집중하며 기업 지원 기반을 고도화해 왔다. 특히 2단계 사업에서는 기술사업화를 넘어 제조로 이어지는 성장 지원을 강화할 계획이다.
설명회에서는 ▲혁신네트워크 육성 ▲기술연계지원사업 ▲이노테크 실증 고도화 지원사업 ▲이노테크 스케일업 지원사업 ▲중대형 연구장비 이용 지원사업 등 기업 성장 단계별 맞춤형 프로그램이 소개됐다.
각 사업은 다음 달 15일까지 공고되며, 접수는 5월 4일부터 15일까지 진행된다. 세부 내용은 포항시 및 연구개발특구진흥재단 홈페이지 사업공고를 통해 확인할 수 있다.
현장에서는 사전 수요조사를 바탕으로 한 1대1 맞춤형 컨설팅도 함께 진행됐다. NICE평가정보 등 전문기관이 참여해 ▲기술가치평가 기반 투자 및 IPO 연계 ▲연구소기업 설립 ▲첨단기술기업 지정 관련 상담을 제공해 기업들로부터 호응을 얻었다.
이정수 포항강소특구육성센터장은 “그간 구축해 온 지원 기반을 토대로 실증과 스케일업을 넘어 제조로 이어지는 성과 창출을 본격화하겠다”며 “전주기 지원체계를 더욱 고도화해 기술 기반 기업의 사업화와 투자 유치를 적극 뒷받침하겠다”고 말했다.
정현정 포항시 바이오미래산업과장은 “강소특구 2단계 사업을 차질 없이 추진해 기술창업-성장-제조로 이어지는 혁신 플랫폼을 구축하고, 포항 첨단 신소재 산업 생태계 완성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 포항강소특구는 2025년 12월 누적 기준 기술이전 379건, 창업 93개사, 일자리 1,251명 창출 등의 성과를 거뒀으며, 최근 특구 내 기업 ㈜에이엔폴리가 공장 준공을 마치는 등 기술사업화가 제조 성과로 이어지고 있다.

The Pohang Small-Scale R&D Special Zone Incubation Center presented a blueprint for supporting the growth of local companies in line with the full-scale implementation of the second phase of the Pohang Small-Scale R&D Special Zone project.
The center announced that it held the "2026 Pohang Small-Scale R&D Special Zone Business Briefing" on the 21st at Pohang Change-Up Ground, with approximately 100 attendees including representatives from local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), venture companies, and related organizations.
This briefing was organized to share this year's major support projects and implementation directions, coinciding with the full-scale launch of the second phase of the Pohang Small-Scale R&D Special Zone project (2025–2029).
Participants at the event, including Pohang Technopark, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Economic Promotion Agency, and NICE Information Service, garnered significant interest by introducing customized support programs tailored to each stage of corporate growth. The Pohang Small but Strong Special Zone has been enhancing its corporate support infrastructure by focusing on discovering and nurturing promising companies, primarily in the field of advanced new materials. In particular, the second phase of the project plans to strengthen support for growth that extends beyond technology commercialization to manufacturing.
At the briefing session, customized programs for each stage of corporate growth were introduced, including the ▲Innovation Network Development ▲Technology Linkage Support Project ▲Innotech Demonstration Advancement Support Project ▲Innotech Scale-up Support Project ▲Support Project for the Use of Medium and Large Research Equipment.

One-on-one customized consulting based on a preliminary demand survey was also conducted on-site. Jeong Hyun-jeong, Head of the Bio-Future Industry Division of Pohang City, announced, “We will proceed with the second phase of the Small-Scale Special Zone project without setbacks to establish an innovation platform leading from technology startups to growth and manufacturing, and do our utmost to complete Pohang’s advanced new materials industry ecosystem.”
Meanwhile, as of December 2025, the Pohang Small-Scale Special Zone has achieved results including 379 technology transfers, 93 startups, and the creation of 1,251 jobs. Furthermore, technology commercialization is leading to manufacturing achievements, as evidenced by the recent completion of a factory by AN Poly Co., Ltd., a company within the zone.
