브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 지난 2일 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 확진 판정을 받은 직후 월터리드 국립 군병원에 입원했다.
트럼프 대통령은 "매우 잘 지내고 있다"는 육성을 담은 동영상을 공개하기도 했다.
2일(현지시각) CNN 보도 등에 따르면 트럼프 대통령은 전용 헬기를 타고 이날 오후 6시30분 군병원에 도착했다.
백악관측은 트럼프 대통령이 병원 입원에 대해 '예방적 조치'라며 병원 특별실에 머물면서 계속 공식 업무를 수행할 예정이라고 전했다. 케일리 매커내니 백악관 대변인은 트럼프 대통령이 "앞으로 며칠간 월터리드 병원에서 지내게 될 것"이라고 말했다.
백악관은 또한 부통령에게 권력 이양도 없을 것이라고 못 박았다.
