권혜영 교수(국제대학교 뷰티코디네이션학과 학과장)의 저서 “나는 꿈이 있어 멈추지 않는다”가 출간(출판사 : 굿인포메이션)됐다.
출판사측은 책 소개말에서 “'성공했다'의 기준은 무엇일까? 수백억의 자산을 일군 것? 이름 석 자만 들어도 누구나 알 수 있는 유명세? 기준을 한없이 높이다 보면 성공이란 두 글자를 사용할 수 있는 사람은 우리 주변에 많지 않다. 손에 닿을 수 없는 성공보다 일상의 평범한 속에서 자신의 꿈을 위해 멈추지 않고 달려가 마침내 이뤄낸 사람의 성공이 더 실감난다. 나도 해볼 수 있기 때문이다. 저자는 어린 시절 고추밭에서 고추를 따던 소녀였다. 가정 형편상 여상에 진학할 수밖에 없었고, 시골에서 고추만 따며 머물러 있기엔 자신이 너무 아깝다고 느껴 서울로 올라와 설거지, 커피 서빙 등 많은 아르바이트를 하면서도 한순간도 이루고 싶은 꿈을 놓지 않았다. 학벌도, 배경도 없이 맨손으로 출발했지만, 그러나, 결국 자신이 꿈꾸던 '선생님'이라는 꿈을 넘어, 국제대학교 뷰티코디네이션학과 교수로 대학 교단에 서는 것은 물론 다양 국가기관과 기업 등 연간 100여 곳 이상에서 강의를 소화하고 있다. 고난 속에서도 꿈과 배움에 대한 의지를 포기하지 않고 결국 해내었기 때문이다. 이 책은 지금 이 순간에도 희망의 끈을 놓지 않고 힘겨운 삶을 맞서고 있는 이들에게 용기와 희망이 되어줄 것”이라면서“단정하고 예쁘장한 외모와 달리 저자의 삶은 거친 자갈밭을 걷는 것과 같았다. 산골에서 태어나 자신에게 주어진 삶보다는 더 나은 삶을 꿈꾸었고, 자신의 신세를 탓하며 주저앉기보다는 그 상황을 극복하는 쪽을 택했다. 꿈은 스스로 이루는 것임을 알았기에. 누구보다 조숙했던 저자는 또래 친구들이 멋을 부리고 여행을 다니는 동안 하루에 한두 시간 잠을 자고 아르바이트를 하며 공부했다. 배움에 대한 갈증을 채우고 버는 돈은 족족 꿈을 이루는 데 투자했다. 주변에서는 모두 '안 된다'고 했지만, 그녀는 대학교수가 되겠다는 자신의 꿈을 단 15년 만에 이루어냈다”고 알렸다.

저자 권혜영 교수 약력
저자 권혜영은 현재 국제대학교 뷰티코디네이션학과 학과장. 한국미용학회 이사, 국가기술자격검정 미용사(피부, 메이크업) 감독위원을 맡고 있다. MBC 슈퍼걸 콘테스트 심사위원, 국제기능올림픽 기능경기대회 심사위원, 통일부 하나원 기초직업적응훈련(미용분야) 사업단장, 한국보건산업진흥원 칼럼니스트를 맡은 바 있다. 국제대학교 2019 우수교원상 수상, 2004 아모레퍼시픽 우수 교육강사 1위, 2005 제1회 LG생활건강 전국강사페스티벌 성공사례 강의경진대회 개인전 대상 수상, 2020 자랑스런 한국인 인물대상 교육발전부문 대상을 수상했다. <꿈을 실현시켜 주는 성공 이미지메이킹(2015)> 외 다수의 전공 서적을 집필했다. 정부서울청사, 통일부, 국방부, 충남교육청, 부산교육청, 충북경찰청, 약손명가 등의 국가기관과 대기업 등 100여 곳 이상 다양한 주제로 강의를 진행하고 있다. 17년 동안 강의를 했지만, 강의가 가장 좋고 천직으로 생각하고 있으며, 지금껏 가장 잘한 일은 결코 단 한 순간도 꿈을 포기하지 않았다는 것이다. 고된 20대를 보냈던 만큼 제자들과 함께 꿈과 미래에 대해 이야기하며, ‘할 수 있다’는 용기와 희망을 전하는 지금이 너무나 행복하다. 다양한 교육기부와 봉사, 지역사회와 소통하며 사회공헌 활동을 이어가고 있다.

Prof. Hye-young Kwon (Director of Department of Beauty Coordination at International University)'s book, “I Have a Dream, I Can't Stop” was published (publisher: Good Information).

The author was a girl who picked peppers in a pepper field as a child. Due to my family's circumstances, I had no choice but to go to Yeosang, and I felt that I was too wasteful to stay in the countryside, picking peppers. He started with bare hands without any academic background or background, but in the end, he went beyond his dream of being a'teacher' and went on to stand at the university denomination as a professor in the Department of Beauty Coordination at International University. The author, who was more precocious than anyone else, slept an hour or two a day and studied while working part-time while his friends of his age went on a trip. Biography of Professor Hye-Young Kwon
Author Kwon Hye-young is currently the head of the Department of Beauty Coordination at International University. She is a director of the Korean Beauty Society and a supervisory committee member of the national technical qualification test beautician (skin, make-up). She has served as a judge for the MBC Supergirl Contest, a judge for the International Skills Olympics Skills Competition, the head of the Hanawon Basic Vocational Adjustment Training (Beauty Field) project of the Ministry of Unification, and a columnist for the Korea Health Industry Promotion Agency. She won the International University 2019 Outstanding Teacher Award, 2004 AMOREPACIFIC Outstanding Teaching Instructor 1st, 2005 1st LG Life & Health National Instructor Festival Success Story Lecture Competition Solo Exhibition Grand Prize, 2020 Proud Korean Person Grand Prize in Education Development Category did. She has written a number of books in her major, including <Making a Success Image That Realizes Dreams (2015)>. She has lectured on a variety of topics in more than 100 countries, including government offices in Seoul, Ministry of Unification, Ministry of National Defense, Chungnam Education Office, Busan Office of Education, Chungbuk National Police Agency, and large corporations. She has been teaching for 17 years, but she has the best teaching and considers her profession, and her best thing to do so far is that she has never given up on her dreams for a single moment. As she was in her twenties, she talks about her dreams and the future with her students, and she is so happy now that she conveys the courage and hope that she can do it. She is continuing her social contribution activities through various educational donations, volunteer work, and communication with the local community.
