DGIST(총장 국양) 전자정보시스템연구부 윤진효 책임연구원 및 조효비 선임전임연구원이 지난 7월 21일 새로운 지배적인 제품 디자인(Dominant Design)의 형성 및 개방형 혁신 다이나믹스와 지식나선 다이나믹스에 대한 연구를 진행하고, 관련 연구결과를 Knowledge Management Research & Practice에 게재했다.

이번 연구는 DGIST, 일본, 이탈리아 국제공동연구논문로 진행되었으며 연구에는 DGIST 윤진효 책임연구원이 제1및 교신저자로 참여했으며, DGIST 조효비 선임전임연구원, 상지대 박경배 교수, 이탈리아 나폴리 페데리코 2 대학(Naples Federico Ⅱ Univ.) 지오바나 델 가우디(Giovanna Del Gaudio)교수 및 일본 메이조(Meijo) 대학 유리 사도이(Yuri Sadoi) 교수가 공동연구원으로 참여했다.
연구는 현장 참여 관찰, 인터뷰, 기술통계분석 등의 질적 연구방법을 통해 진행되었으며 핵심은 전환형 신산업에서 새로운 지배적인 제품 디자인(Dominant Design)이 형성되는 과정에 긴 머리와 긴 꼬리가 있는 역 U자형 곡선이 나타난다는 새로운 이론을 정립한 것이다.
이번 연구를 통해 윤진효 박사팀은 개방형 혁신 다이나믹스와 지식나선 다이나믹스의 관계에 대한 내재화와 사회화는 암묵지 기반의 내향형 개방형 혁신(Inbound Open Innovation)의 특징, 그리고 외부화와 조합화의 명시지 기반의 외향형 개방형 혁신(Outbound Open Innovation)의 특징을 가진다는 것을 이론적·실증적으로 규명하였으며 이탈리아와 일본의 대학들과 심층적인 질적 연구를 진행해 새로운 이론 발견(Grounded Theory)한 것으로, 그 가치가 더욱 높다.
또한 이번 연구는 DGIST를 배경으로 현장 연구를 진행해서 학계의 주목을 많이 받고 있어 추후 해당 논문의 인용횟수 증가 시 DGIST 홍보에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
DGIST 윤진효 책임연구원은 “DGIST는 이공계 중심의 교육 연구기관이지만 동 연구논문과 DGIST 교직원분, 학생들의 정치경제와 사회에 대한 이해에 조그마하게 기여하면 좋겠다” 고 말했다.
