브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 김의겸 열린민주당 의원은 성남 대장동 개발 특혜 의혹의 핵심인 화천대유자산관리(화천대유) 대주주 김만배씨가 윤석열 전 검찰총장과 형·동생하는 가까운 사이라고 주장했다. 이에 윤석열 캠프측은 직접 보고서 그런 이야기를 하는 것이냐며 즉각 반박했다.
김의겸 의원은 지난 29일 자신의 페이스북을 통해 지난 2016년 박영수 특검이 법조 출입기자들을 불러 모은 일화를 소개했다. 김 의원은 당시 머니투데이 김만배 기자가 박 특검의 부탁을 받고 이 자리를 주선했다고 설명하며 "박영수 특검과 김만배 기자가 얼마나 가까운 사이인지 짐작할 수 있는 장면"이라고 전했다. 박영수 특검은 기자들 앞에서 '수사팀장은 누굴 시키는 게 좋을 것 같냐'고 물었고, 다른 기자들이 쭈뼛쭈뼛하며 대답을 안하자 김만배 기자가 "석열이형이 어떨까요"라고 제안했다고 주장했다.
김 의원은 이어 "당시 이 말을 들은 다른 기자들은 '김만배가 윤석열과 엄청 가깝구나'라고 생각했다고 한다"며 "윤석열 후보는 검사 시절 기자들과 농도 짙은 관계를 유지한 검사다. 김만배를 몰랐을 리 없다. 윤석열 후보는 우선 김씨와 아는 사이인지 여부부터 밝혀야 한다. 그저 우연이라는 말로 빠져나갈 사안이 아니다”라고 강조했다.
이에 윤석열 캠프의 김경진 대외협력특보는 30일 MBC라디오 김종배의 시선집중에 출연해 "국회의원씩이나 돼서 함부로 말해도 되나"라며 즉각 반박했다.
김경진 의원은 "저 같은 사람도 한번도 못보거나 술 한잔 안해본 사람도 저한테 '경진이형 측근'이라고 말하고 다는 사람도 많다"며 "김 의원은 직접 그 장면을 목도한 것도 아니고 당시 기자들한테 들었다는 얘기가 얼만큼 정확한지도 모르겠다"고 말했다.
또한 윤석열 전 총장도 "김만배라는 그분과 개인적인 친분은 전혀 없다"며 "어느 검사 상갓집에서 눈 인사 한번 한 것 같다. 법조에 있을 때도 본 게 한 9~10년 된 것 같다"고 말했다.
윤석열 캠프측에서도 "윤 후보는 김만배 기자가 오랜 법조 생활을 하였기 때문에 안면 정도는 있지만, 개인적으로 전화하거나 만나는 사이가 아니며 친분이 전혀 없다"면서 "최근 10년 이상 사석에서 본 적이 없다"고 해명했다.

Rep. Kim Eui-gyeom introduced an anecdote on his Facebook page on the 29th that Park Young-soo, a special prosecutor, called in reporters entering the law in 2016. Rep. Kim explained that Money Today reporter Kim Man-bae arranged the meeting at the request of special prosecutor Park at the time, saying, "This is a scene where you can guess how close Park Young-soo and reporter Kim Man-bae are." Special Prosecutor Park Young-soo asked reporters in front of him, "Who should I ask for the investigation team leader?" and claimed that when other reporters did not answer, reporter Kim Man-bae suggested, "How about Seok-yeol?"
Rep. Kim said, "Other reporters who heard this at the time said, 'Kim Man-bae is very close to Yoon Seok-yeol,' adding, "Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol is a prosecutor who maintained a concentrated relationship with reporters when he was a prosecutor." There's no way you didn't know Kim Man-bae. Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol should first reveal whether he knows Kim. It's not a matter to escape just by coincidence," he stressed.
In response, Kim Kyung-jin, a special adviser for external cooperation at Yoon Seok-yeol Camp, immediately refuted MBC Radio's Kim Jong-bae's attention on the 30th, saying, "Can I become a member of the National Assembly and talk carelessly?"
Rep. Kim Kyung-jin said, "There are many people like me who have never seen or haven't had a drink saying that I am a close aide to Kyung-jin," adding, "I don't know how accurate it is that Rep. Kim didn't see the scene himself or heard it from reporters at the time."
In addition, former President Yoon Seok-yeol also said, "I have no personal acquaintance with him named Kim Man-bae," adding, "I think I greeted him once at a prosecutor's shop." "I think it's been about 9 to 10 years since I've seen it even when I was in the law," he said.
Yoon Seok-yeol's camp also explained, "Candidate Yoon has met Kim Man-bae because he has been in law for a long time, but he does not call or meet personally and has never seen him in private for more than a decade."
