브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 26일 사망한 고(故) 노태우 전 대통령의 유족들이 생전 유언을 공개했다.
유족측이 밝힌 입장문에 따르면 노 전 대통령은 "자신에게 주어진 운명을 겸허하게 그대로 받아들여, 위대한 대한민국과 국민을 위해 봉사할 수 있어서 참으로 감사하고 영광스러웠다"면서 "나름대로 최선의 노력을 다했지만 그럼에도 부족한 점 및 저의 과오들에 대해 깊은 용서를 바란다"고 말했다.
또한 "자신의 생애에 이루지 못한 남북한 평화통일이 다음 세대들에 의해 꼭 이루어지기를 바란다"고 당부했다. 자신의 장례는 국법에 따라 최대한 검소하게 해달라고 했다.
유족측은 "오랫동안 병환에 계시던 사랑하는 저희 아버지 노태우 전 대통령께서 10월26일 오후 운명하셨다"며 "많은 분들의 애도와 조의에 감사드리며 아버지께서 돌아가시기 전 평소에 남기신 말씀을 전한다"고 유언을 공개한 배경을 설명했다.
아울러 장례 절차는 정부와 협의 중이며 장지는 노 전 대통령의 뜻을 받들어 재임시에 조성한 통일 동산이 있는 파주로 모시는 것을 협의 중에 있다고 전했다.
