더불어민주당 대구시당(위원장 김대진)이 기자회견을 개최하여 노동 및 인권 조례 제정 촉구에 나섰다.
김대진 위원장과 지역위원장 6인은 27일 오후 2시 기자회견을 통해 “대구는 권력이 한쪽으로 편중된 상황과 민주당이 많은 노력을 기울이지 못한 이유 등으로 노동과 인권이 살아 숨쉬지 못한다”면서 당차원의 노동 및 인권조례 제정 추진 계획을 밝혔다.
이들은 “매일의 노동이 존중받고 인권이 침해받는 상황을 타파하기 위해서 노동 및 인권조례 제정이 매우 중요하다”고 강조했다.

현재 대구시의 8개 기초지자체 중 5개 지자체만이 인권 증진 조례가 제정되어있으며 북구, 수성구, 서구에는 조례가 제정되지 않은 것으로 알려진다.
이에 민주당 대구시당은 노동 및 인권 조례 제정을 촉구하면서 시민단체와 노동단체에 함께 행동해 줄 것을 요청했다.
김대진 위원장은 “26일 대구의 지방의원들을 모시고 회의를 개최해 노동과 인권에 대한 공감, 의회별 상황에 대해 공유하는 시간을 가졌다”고 전하며 “아울러 11월 초에는 양대노총과 함께 토론회를 개최하며 행동에 나설 예정”이라고 밝혔다.
이어 권택흥 달서구갑 지역위원장은 “민주당이 노동의제를 가지고 노동자를 대표하는 단체들과 공동의 모색을 하고 또 이를 지역사회로 확장하는 노력은 처음 시도하는 것이라 상당한 의미가 있다”고 덧붙였다.

Kwon Taek-heung, regional chairperson of Dalseo-gu-gap, added, “It is very meaningful as it is the first attempt by the Democratic Party to jointly seek out a labor agenda with organizations representing workers and to expand it to the local community.”
