영진전문대학교 호텔항공관광과가 위드 코로나에 관광산업 미래 비전을 제시하며 ‘플라잉 투어리즘(Flying Tourism)-만남의 장’을 개최했다.
지난달 30일 교내 도서관 시청각실에서 열린 ‘플라잉 투어리즘-만남의 장’ 행사는 관광분야 업체 관계자을 초청한 가운데, 관광산업 분야 진출을 꿈꾸는 예비 대학생들을 위해 마련되었다.

행사는 재학생과 졸업생들을 비롯하여 국내 항공사, 호텔과 해외관광 업체 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 진행되었다.
이 자리에 참석한 대한항공 관계자는 포스트 코로나 시대를 대비한 관광산업의 전망과 미래를 조명했고, 일본 에이산면세점 전무는 해외 관광산업과 해외 취업에 대한 전망을 설명했다.
이들은 “위드 코로나로 닫힌 해외여행 문이 열리고 관광산업도 기지개를 켜면서, 관광분야 앞날에 청신호가 켜질 것이다”라며 이구동성으로 강조했다.
뿐만 아니라 호텔항공관광과 출신으로 항공사(에어부산), 특급호텔(노보텔) 등에 취업한 졸업생들은 생생한 취업 성공 노하우를 전하며 공감을 이끌어냈다.
이 대학교 호텔항공관광과는 코로나19 팬데믹 상황에서도 호텔신라, 롯데호텔, 에어부산, 현대자동차 등 대기업 계열사에 올해 졸업자 12명을 취업시키며 관광인재 양성의 요람으로 주목받고 있다.
강병주 호텔항공관광과 부장(교수)은 “참석 학생과 학부모님이 호텔항공관광과의 글로벌 프로그램인 해외학기제, 해외인턴십, 교환학생 프로그램, 해외 무시험 편입학에 많은 관심을 보였다”면서 “관광산업이 재도약하고 활기를 찾는데 우리 학과가 힘이 될 수 있도록 산학협력에 가일층 앞장서고, 포스트코로나에 대비한 우수한 관광 전문인력을 양성하는데 선제적으로 노력하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
