대구한의대(총장 변창훈)가 경찰공무원에 합격한 재학생에게 특별장학금을 지급했다.

대구한의대는 어려운 가정형편에도 학교수업을 충실히 들으면서 재학 중에 경찰공무원에 합격한 경찰행정학과 배정인 학생에게 1백만 원의 장학금을 전달했다고 1일 밝혔다.
2005년 개설된 경찰행정학과는 매년 10여명의 학생들이 경찰시험 및 검찰직, 일반직 공무원 시험에 합격해 경찰 양성의 요람으로 주목 받고 있다
경찰행정학과는 학생들의 재학률·취업률을 높이고 교육수요자의 의견을 반영한 교수·학습법 마련을 위해 교수와 학생의 1대 1 멘토링 관계를 형성하여 특별관리하고 있다.
또한 재학생들의 노력이 헛되지 않게 자격증반 운영, 시험대비 특강, 국가고시원 운영과 경찰공무원에게 요구되는 인성 함양교육 등을 통해 학생들이 경찰직 이외에 ROTC 등 군장교, 해양경찰, 공항 특수경비원 및 청원경찰, 금융기관 등에 다양하게 진출할 수 있도록 적극 지원하고 있다.
경찰행정학과장 조성제 교수는 “대구한의대 경찰행정학과는 필기시험, 체력시험, 면접고사 등 모든 경찰 채용절차를 대학 내 정규수업에서 소화함은 물론이고, 인성 및 소통역량 비교과강의 및 집중 면담 등을 통해 경찰시험 합격률을 극대화하고 있다”고 밖히며 “아울러 인권경찰, 소통경찰을 위한 봉사 프로그램과 사제동행 등 다양한 인성 프로그램을 통해 따뜻하고 믿음직한 경찰을 양성하는데 더욱 힘쓰겠다"고 말했다.
