브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 홍준표 국민의힘 의원은 대통령선거가 윤석열 국민의힘 후보와 이재명 더불어민주당 후보간 대결이 된 것과 관련 "두 분 중 지면 한 사람은 감옥가야 하는 처절한 대선"이라고 평가했다.
홍준표 의원은 8일 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "이전투구(泥田鬪狗) 대선에서 부디 살아 남는 대선이 되도록 부탁드린다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
홍 의원은 "차기 대선판이 석양의 무법자처럼 되어 간다"며 "민심에서 압승하고 당심에서 지는 희한한 경선이였지만 나는 그것이 선거의 룰이였기 때문에 깨끗하게 승복한 것"이라고 설명했다.
이어 "부디 대선은 민심의 100분의 1도 안 되는 당심으로 치룰 생각은 하지 말라"며 "민심을 따라가는 당심이 되도록 하라"고 당부했다.
홍 의원은 또한 페이스북에 연달아 글을 하나 더 올리고선 "비리 혐의자끼리 대결하는 비상식 대선이 되어 참 안타깝다"며 "선거 조직은 마치 떳다방과 같다. 승리하거나 패배하거나 선거가 끝나면 뿔뿔이 흩어지기는 마찬가지다. 부족한 저를 석 달 동안 견마지로를 다해 도와준 동지 여러분들과 지지자 여러분들은 절대 잊지 않겠다"고 감사인사를 전했다.
한편 홍준표 의원은 대선 경선에서 윤석열 후보에게 패배한 이후 선대위 불참 선언을 했다. 이에 대해 논란이 일자 "비리대선 불참 선언을 원팀이 안된다거나 당 분열로 보는 것은 크나큰 잘못"이라며 "처음부터 백의종군이라고 선언했으면 액면 그대로 봐주면 될 것을 꼭 못된 심보로 그걸 걸고넘어지는 것은 획일주의 군사 문화의 잔재가 아닌가"라고 반박하기도 했다.

Rep. Hong said, "The next presidential election is becoming like an outlaw of the sunset," and explained, "It was a strange race that won the public sentiment and lost the party trial, but I accepted it cleanly because it was an election rule."

Rep. Hong also posted one more post in a row on Facebook, saying, "It's a pity that it's become an emergency presidential election where suspected corruption confront each other," adding, "The election organization is like a chatroom." It is the same as winning, losing, or dispersing after an election. "I will never forget my comrades and supporters who have helped me for three months," he said with thanks.
Meanwhile, Rep. Hong Joon Pyo declared his absence from the election committee after losing to candidate Yoon Seok-yeol in the presidential race. In the wake of the controversy over this, "The original team is not allowed to declare its absence from the corruption presidential election."It's a big mistake to see it as a party division, he said. "If you declared it as a Baek Ui-jong from the beginning, isn't it a remnant of uniformist military culture to risk it on a false note that you can see it at face value?"
