대구대학교(총장 김상호) 공학교육혁신센터가 메타버스 공간을 활용해 DU 공학제 작품을 전시한다고 밝혔다.
대구대학교 공학교육혁신센터는 지난달 공과대학 및 정보통신대학을 중심으로 공학 계열 재학생들을 위해 개최된 DU 공학제에 출품된 작품을 오는 1월까지 메타버스 공간에서 전시한다고 전했다.

DU 공학제도 전시와 마찬가지로 메타버스 공간을 통해 진행되었으며 10개 학과의 104개 팀이 참여해 캡스톤디자인 작품 전시회 및 경진대회에서 경쟁을 벌였다.
DU 공학제의 메타버스 전시장은 4개의 홀로 구성되어 있으며, 각 홀은 전공별로 구분돼 본선에 진출한 팀 ‘똑바로 앉아’의 ‘9축 센서를 이용한 앉은 자세 불균형 예방 및 교정 시스템의 설계 및 구현’ 등 19개의 다양한 작품을 전시하고 있다.
박철영 대구대 공학교육혁신센터장은 “변화하는 교육현장에 맞추어 메타버스 환경에서 공학제를 처음으로 실시했다”면서 “비대면 시대임에도 불구하고 메타버스 기술을 통해 공대생들의 우수한 작품 전시로 많은 사람들에게 보여줄 수 있다”고 말했다.
