브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 전두환 전 대통령이 23일 지병으로 인해 사망했다. 향년 90세.
이날 뉴시스 보도에 따르면 전두환 전 대통령은 이날 오전 8시 45분께 서울 연희동 자택에서 사망했으며 임종때는 이순자 여사만 곁에 있었던 것으로 전해졌다.
전두환 전 대통령은 악성 혈액암인 다발성 골수종 확진 판정을 받고 투병중이었다. 최근에는 건강 상태가 악화돼 서울 서대문구의 세브란스병원에서 통원 치료를 받아왔다.
한편 전두환 전 대통령은 1931년 경남 합천에서 태어나 대구공업고·육군사관학교 11기를 졸업했다.
청와대경호실 차장보, 국군보안사령관, 제10대 중앙정보부 부장, 국가보위입법회의 상임위원장, 육군대장 등을 지냈고, 1980년 제11대 대한민국 대통령에 취임했다. 1981년 2월 개정된 새 헌법에 따라 12대 대통령에 당선됐다.
