계명대, ‘2022년도 세계시민교육강좌 개설 지원사업’ 선정

계명대(총장 신일희)가 유네스코 아시아태평양 국제이해교육원의 ‘2022년도 세계시민교육강좌 개설 지원사업’에 선정됐다.

유네스코 아시아태평양 국제이해교육원에서는 전국 4년제 종합대학과 교육대학을 대상으로 2022년도 세계시민교육강좌 개설지원사업공모를 실시, 공정한 심사를 통해 전국 12개 대학(학부 7개, 대학원 5개 강좌)을 선정해 발표했다.

이 중 한 곳으로 선정된 계명대는 대구·경북에서는 처음으로 유네스코 아시아태평양 국제이해교육원 협약강좌를 개설, 운영하게 되었다.

앞서 계명대학교는 ‘계명인성교육원’과 ‘계명카리타스봉사센터’의 다양한 교과·비교과 프로그램 운영을 통해 인성시민교육을 실시해왔다. 이를 통해 보여준 인성시민교육에 대한 의지와 관심의 결과로 2022년도 세계시민교육강좌 개설지원사업에 선정된 계명대학교는 세계시민교육의 질적 수준이 한층 향상될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

강의를 전담하게 될 박희진 계명대 교육대학원 다문화교육전공 교수는 “우리나라는 이미 다문화사회로 접어들었지만, 아직도 사회적 편견과 시선이 존재하고 있으며 체계적인 세계시민교육과 다문화교육은 부족한 실정이다.”며, “이번 유네스코 협약강좌 개설사업 선정으로 학생들에게 수준 높은 세계시민의식 함양 기회를 제공하여 계명대학교의‘세계시민교육’전통을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
