김천대학교(총장 윤옥현) 사회복지전공(전공주임 이예종) 학생 30여명이 지난 23일 제11회 장애인건강걷기대회에서 자원봉사활동을 실시했다.

김천시장애인체육회(회장 김상돈)가 주최o주관하고 김천시(시장 김충섭)가 후원하는 이번 대회는 스포츠를 통하여 장애인에 대한 편견을 없애고 사회참여와 자신감을 향상시키며 생활체육활성화를 도모하고자 마련되었다.
이날 봉사에 참여한 학생들은 그동안 배운 수화실력을 발휘하여 능숙하게 수어 통역을 했으며, 체육대회 참가자들의 입장 전 발열체크와 마스크 착용 확인 등의 방역관리와 자리 안내, 체육대회 진행 보조 활동을 이어갔다.
이번 봉사활동에 참여한 이종학 학생(17학번)은 “오늘 장애인한마음스포츠대회를 통해 장애인식개선은 물론 그동안 우리가 배운 것을 직접 실천할 수 있는 뜻 깊은 봉사활동이었다”면서 “날씨는 추웠지만 마음은 무척 따뜻한 날이었다”며 소감을 밝혔다.
김천대학교 사회복지전공은 수어를 특화한 교육과정과 변화하는 시대에 맞는 융복합 교육시도로 휴먼서비스 인재 양성에 앞장서고 있다. 현재 다양한 장학혜택으로 2022학년도 신입생을 모집하고 있다.

The Department of Social Welfare at Gimcheon University is taking the lead in nurturing human service talents with a curriculum specializing in sign language and an attempt at convergence education suited to the changing times.
