경북의 초등 돌봄전담사 일부가 1일부터 이틀 간 파업에 돌입한 가운데 임종식 경북교육감이 돌봄 공백 최소화를 위해 현장을 찾았다.

경북의 초등학교 돌봄전담사 200여 명이 1일 경북교육청에 근무시간 확대와 방학 상시근무 실시 등을 요구하며 이틀 간의 파업에 돌입했다.
이들은 “경북 내 대부분 돌봄전담사가 돌봄 준비와 행정, 방역 업무 등을 하루 4시간 만에 처리해야 해 부담이 크다”고 주장하며 “근무시간을 4시간에서 8시간으로 확대해달라”고 경북교육청에 요구하고 있는 것으로 알려진다.
앞서 교육부는 돌봄교실 운영 시간 연장과 돌봄전담사 행정업무 시간 보장 등 돌봄교실 운영 개선안을 발표했다.
그러나 해당 개선안에 대해 경북과 전북, 광주는 도입을 검토하지 않고 있다.
이 가운데 임종식 교육감은 같은 날 예천초등학교를 방문해 초등돌봄전담사 부분 돌봄교실 운영 현황을 점검하고 학교 관계자에게 돌봄 공백 최소화 당부에 나섰다.
앞서 경북교육청은 초등돌봄전담사 파업과 관련하여 학교 여건 및 구성원들의 의견 수렴을 바탕으로 학교 관계자의 적극적인 돌봄 대응을 안내했다.
임종식 교육감은 “학교 현장에서 안정적인 돌봄교실 운영을 위해 노력하는 교직원에게 감사드리며. 돌봄 관련 현안 과제가 조속히 해결될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”며“각 교육 기관에서는 우리 아이들과 학부모님들이 불편함을 느끼시지 않도록 최선을 다해달라”고 당부했다.
