경일대학교(총장 정현태)가 교육부 주관 2021년 대학기관평가인증에서 지역대학 중 가장 먼저 인증을 획득해 눈길을 끌고 있다.
1일 경일대는 교육부의 3주기 대학기본역량진단 평가에서 일반재정지원 대학으로 선정된 데 이어 대학기관평가인증을 획득하면서 겹경사를 맞았다고 밝혔다.

경일대는 교육부가 전국의 모든 대학들을 대상으로 실시한 대학기관평가인증에서 △대학이념 및 경영 △교육과정 및 교수·학습 △교원 및 직원 △학생지원 및 시설 △대학성과 및 사회적 책무 등 5개 평가영역에 대한 30개 평가준거를 모두 충족했다.
또한 경일대는 대학기관평가인증이 처음 시행된 2012년 평가를 시작으로 주기별 평가에서 대구·경북지역 대학 중에서 매번 가장 먼저 인증을 획득해왔으며, 이번 평가 역시 지역에서 가장 먼저 3회 연속 인증대학이 됐다.
정현태 총장은 “30개 평가준거 모두 충족을 획득하며 3번의 대학기관평가인증을 모두 충족했다”라며 “교육여건에 대한 꾸준하고도 과감한 투자가 있었고, 학생·교직원 모두가 합심해 대학발전을 위해 지혜를 모은 결과”라고 소감을 밝혔다.
