정의당 대구시당, "법원의 대구 이슬람사원 공사중지처분 취소 판결 환영"

1일 대구지방법원 제1행정부(부장판사 차경환)가 대구 북구청의 이슬람사원 공사 중지에 대해 처분을 취소하라고 판결한 가운데 정의당 대구시당이 이에 대한 환영 입장을 전했다.

정의당 대구시당은 대구지법의 이와 같은 결정에 대해 “차별적 행정조치를 거두라는 대구지방법원의 결정을 진심으로 환영한다.”고 전했다.

이들은 “북구청의 공사중지 행정명령은 이슬람사원 건립과정을 둘러싼 모두에게 큰 상처를 남겼다”면서 “이번 행정명령의 취소는 혐오차별을 멈추라는 요청이며 갈등이 거둬지고 이슬람 사원이 평화롭게 건립되기를 바란다.”고 말했다.

그러면서 “이를 위해서는 북구청이 적극적으로 움직여야 한다”고 강조하며 “북구청의 부당한 행정명령으로 오해와 편견, 혐오차별을 부추기는 결과를 낳았다. 이에 북구청은 반성하고 책임져야한다”고 꼬집었다.

그동안 정의당은 북구청이 적극적으로 나서지 않는 점을 지적하며 관할 지자체가 갈등을 조정하고 해결하는 역할을 해야 한다고 말해왔다.

이어 정의당은 “북구청은 자신의 역할을 다 하고 공사가 원만히 해결될 수 있도록 적극적인 행정조치를 취해 이슬람 사원 건축이 평화롭게 이루어지도록 책임 있게 나서라”고 강조했다.

아울러 “한국사회가 다양한 인종과 종교가 공존하며 서로를 인정하고 존중할 수 있게 공공기관으로서 사회적 책무를 다하기 바란다.”고 덧붙였다.
