금오공대, 삼성전자와 지역산업 고도화를 위한 협약 체결

금오공과대학교(총장 곽호상)와 삼성전자㈜가 지역 제조업의 혁신과 지역 산업 고도화를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.

1일 금오공대 본관 접견실에서 열린 협약식에는 곽호상 금오공대 총장과 윤성희 삼성전자㈜ 구미지원센터장을 비롯해 금오공대 이현권 기획협력처장, 김동성 산학협력단장 등과 김영식 국회의원(구미 을)이 함께 자리해 양 기관과 지역 발전을 위해 논의하는 시간을 가졌다.

이번 협약은 지역 스마트 제조혁신을 위한 선도 기술을 공동으로 개발하고, 지역 산업의 발전을 견인할 차세대 핵심 인재를 양성하기 위해 마련되었다.

협약을 통해 양 기관은 보유자원과 역량을 활용해 △스마트팩토리 등 제조혁신을 위한 협력과 공동연구 △지역 스타트업·중소기업 기술창업 지원 △차세대 핵심기술 개발 △정보 및 인적 교류 등의 분야에서 협력하기로 했다.

금오공대와 삼성전자㈜는 이미 학생 창업 및 기술 역량을 향상시키고자 임직원 멘토링 및 애로기술 해결을 위한 연구과제 등을 수행해 왔으며, 이번 협약을 통해 양 기관 간 산학협력이 더욱 활발하게 이루어 것으로 기대하고 있다.

협약 체결을 지원한 김영식 국회의원은 “지역 발전을 위해 추진한 이번 협약이 양 기관의 경쟁력 강화와 더불어 지역 경제 및 산업 전반에 새로운 활력이 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.
