도서출판 북그루는 ‘한중수교 30주년’을 맞아, 한중의 미래를 밝히는 특별한 신간이 출간됐다. 《시진핑 위대한 중국을 품다》 저자 겸 한중교류친선대사 이창호 작가가 집필한 중국문화를 알면 중국이 보인다 ‘중화(中華)’가 바로 그 책.
중국은 한족과 55개 소수민족으로 이루어진 다민족국가이다. 중국에서는 공인된 56개 민족 외에도 다양한 민족이 존재한다. 오늘날 중국에서는 중화민족이라는 단일민족 만들기를 하고 있지만, 문화적으로는 여전히 다양하다. 중국은 지역마다 문화가 다르고 민족마다 다르다. 게다가 동일한 민족이라 하더라도 서로 다른 지역에 분포하면 다른 문화풍속을 갖는다. 또 서로 다른 민족이지만 오랫동안 교류하면서 동일한 문화를 갖고 있기도 하다. 그래서 중국문화를 알려면 중국 각 지역, 각 소수민족의 문화에 대해 잘 알고 있어야 한다.

이 책은, 지리·인구·역사·유물·예술·생활 등 중국을 이해하는 데 알아두어야 할 다양한 내용을 흥미롭게 담고자 노력했다.
