곽상도 의원의 보궐로 자리가 비어있는 대구 중남구 지역에 박근혜 전 대통령 변호인이었던 도태우 변호사가 출마를 선언했다.

15일 도태우 변호사는 대구 중구·남구 국회의원 보궐선거에 국민의힘 소속 예비후보로 등록을 마치고 본격적인 행보에 나섰다.
도 변호사는 우파의 대표적인 젊은 변호사로 문재인 정부를 상대로 수년간 강규형 KBS 전 이사의 해임취소소송을 수행하여 승소했다.
또한 그는 국민의힘 최고위원 후보 출마 등 전국적인 활동과 더불어 서문시장 법률자문위원과 같은 지역 활동도 폭넓게 펼쳐 왔다.
도태우 변호사는 출마선언 영상을 통해 “국채보상운동, 삼성상회, 2·28민주화운동과 같이 지역의 훌륭한 전통을 이어 중·남구의 든든한 아들이 되겠다”면서 포부를 밝혔다.
한편 중남구에는 더불어민주당 최창희, 국민의힘 임병헌, 배영식 등이 출마선언과 함께 예비후보 등록을 마친 상태이다.
