정부는 16일 전국의 사적모임 인원을 축소하고 영업시간도 제한하는 내용의 긴급 거리두기 강화안을 발표했다. 이는 이번 주말인 18일부터 시작돼 내년 1월 2일까지 시행될 예정이다.
김부겸 국무총리는 이날 오전 정부서울청사에서 코로나19 중앙재난안전대책본부(중대본) 회의를 주재하고 "어렵게 시작했던 단계적 일상회복의 발걸음을 45일 만에 잠시 멈추고자 한다"며 새로운 거리두기 조정방안을 발표했다.
이같은 강화 대책을 내놓은데 대해선 "지금 무엇보다 중요한 것은 대면접촉을 줄이고, 가능한 마스크를 벗는 시간을 최소화하는 것"이라고 설명했다.

김 총리는 특히 이번 조정방안으로 인해 피해 입을 소상공인에게 죄송하다며 지원 대책을 강화하겠다고 말했다.
김 총리는 "소상공인·자영업자 여러분들께 죄송하다는 말씀을 드린다"며 "영업시간 제한으로 입게 되는 직접피해에 대한 손실보상과 함께, 방역패스 확대 등에 따른 현실적 어려움에 대해서도 ‘방역지원금’ 명목으로 좀 더 두텁게 지원하겠다"고 강조했다. 구체적인 지원방안은 관계부처와 논의를 거쳐 확정한 뒤 발표할 예정이다.
