지난 16일, 국민의힘 창원시의회(대표 이찬호)는 의원총회를 열고 2021년 의정활동 성과와 표창 전수, 마산 해양신도시 관련 쟁점 사항 논의, 손태화 의원의 검찰수사 혐의없음 수사 결과, 중앙당과 대선후보에 관한 전달사항 등을 공유하고 철저한 대책과 대응을 마련했다.

행정사무 감사를 통해 시정사항을 발견하여 개선을 요구하였으며 시정 질문과 5분 자유발언 등을 실시하여 주요 시정 및 현안에 대한 문제점을 지적하고 대안을 제시함으로써 행정의 능률성과 효과성을 높이기 위해 노력했다.
2년간 이어지고 있는 사상 초유의 코로나 19 상황에 면밀하게 대응하고자 코로나 19 긴급 추경예산을 심의?의결하였으며 지역사회의 어려움을 함께 극복하기 위해 3회에 걸친 추경예산을 가결하고, 불요·불급한 예산을 절감하여 코로나 19 대응 지원과 민생안전자금 긴급 지원금으로 전환함으로써 시민피해를 최소화하고 복지서비스를 강화하는 데 일조했다.
코로나 19 상황이 완전히 종식될 때까지 시민의 안전을 지키고 지역경제에 활력을 불어넣기 위해 노력하는 한편, 32년 만의 지방자치법 전부개정에 따른 조례?규정 정비 등의 후속 조치를 면밀하고 속도감 있게 추진함으로써 통합창원시의 여건에 부합한 자치행정을 완성하고 창원이 대한민국을 선도하는 지방자치 모범도시가 될 수 있도록 총력을 기울일 것이다.
