국립금오공과대학교(총장 곽호상)가 지자체 및 산업계, 공공기관 등과 함께 지속가능한 혁신 생태계 구축을 위한 ‘지역일체혁신위원회’를 출범했다.
지난 21일 금오공대 청운대에서 열린 출범식에는 곽호상 금오공대 총장을 비롯해 경상북도청, 구미시, 김천시 등 3개 지자체와 한국산업단지공단 경북지역본부 등 공공기관, 그리고 한화시스템 및 LIG넥스원 등 지역 혁신기관 관계자들이 참석했다.

이날 출범한 지역일체혁신위원회는 곽호상 금오공대 총장이 위원장을 맡았으며 총 21명으로 구성된 위원회의 임기는 2년이다.
이들은 지역 내 산학연관 협력을 위한 주요 정책과 연계 전략, 그리고 대학의 산학협력 발전 계획에 관한 사항을 논의하고 혁신과 지속 가능한 발전을 위한 다양한 사안을 협의하며 협력과 소통의 플랫폼으로서 혁신 네트워크 역할을 수행할 예정이다.
이들은 이날 출범식에 이어 3단계 LINC사업 선정을 위한 준비 상황과 경북구미 강소연구개발특구 사업의 추진 현황을 공유하였으며 2022년 추진 예정인 산학협력 활성화 방안을 위한 킥오프 세미나를 이어갔다.
곽호상 총장은 “지역이 당면한 문제를 지역 산·학·연·관이 하나 되어 해결 방안을 모색하는 플랫폼이 될 것으로 기대한다”며, “금오공대도 지역사회 일원으로 시대가 요구하는 역할을 하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
