김천대학교(총장 윤옥현)가 연말을 맞이하여 나그네공동체(대표 김희경)를 통해 내전과 코로나로 어려움을 겪고 있는 미얀마에 기부 물품을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

지난 9월부터 김천대 지역사회봉사단(단장 김용수)과 사회복지전공(주임교수 이예종)은 함께 지역사회 아동복지시설, 노인복지기관, 모암초등학교 등에서 미얀마를 위한 비누와 마스크 줄을 만들어왔다.
이와 함께 예쁜소리피아노학원(원장 홍영아)은 아이들은 장난감으로, 김천문화원 칼림바 수강생들은 생필품 등으로 그 힘을 보탰다.
이를 통해 김천대학교 스포츠단(단장 최보식)에서 기부한 축구공 40개를 비롯하여 그동안 직접 만들어 준비한 비누 300여개와 마스크 줄 300여개, 마스크 1,700여장, 여성위생용품, 학용품, 장난감, 수건, 우비 등으로 구성된 이번 기부물품은 나그네공동체를 통해 미얀마로 전달될 예정이다.
미얀마 고아원과 인근 마을주민들, 내전으로 인한 피난민들, 간호학원, 교도소, 교회 등으로 전달되는 이번 기부물품 나눔은 김천대학교와 김천 지역 내 어린아이부터 어르신들까지 함께 마음을 모아 준비해 더욱 의미를 더했다.
