진영환 삼익THK(주) 회장이 계명대학교에 ‘계명더하기 장학기금’ 5억 원을 기부했다.

지난달 30일 오전 10시 30분, 계명대 성서캠퍼스 본관에서 삼익THK(주) 진영환 회장과 임원진, 신일희 계명대 총장 및 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 장학기금 전달식이 개최되었다.
이날 진영환 회장은 5억 원의 장학금을 쾌척하였으며 여기에 계명대는 매칭장학기금 5억 원을 더해 총 10억원의 장학기금을 마련하여‘삼익THK장학금’으로 학생들을 위해 운용할 예정이다.
지난 2019년 5월 사회공동체 구현과 지역사회의 발전에 기여한 공로로 계명대로부터 명예사회학박사 학위를 수여 받은 진영환 회장은 오래전부터 계명대와의 인연을 이어오고 있다.
진영환 회장은 “대학의 성장은 지역의 발전과 직결된다. 대학에서 배출한 인재들이 지역사회와 경제를 이끌어 가는 원동력이 되기 때문에 미래의 인재들을 위한 투자라고 생각한다.”며, 모두가 어렵고 힘들지만 위기를 함께 이겨 낸다면 반드시 좋은 결과가 있을 것이다.“고 기부의사를 전했다.
신일희 총장은 “기업을 운영하시면서 어려움도 많으실 텐데 이렇게 거금을 희사해 주셔서 진심으로 감사드린다.”며, “미래를 이끌어가고, 사회에서 꼭 필요로 하는 인재 배출을 위해 최선의 노력을 다 하겠다.”고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
