허 시장은 간담회를 통해 “지난 3년 반동안 경제 역성장, 코로나19 등 숱한 위기가 있었지만, 스마트그린산단 선정을 통한 창원국가산단의 재도약과 수소·방위·로봇 등 新성장 산업의 집중 육성으로 창원 경제는 반등을 이뤄냈고, 수질·대기 개선과 함께 시내버스 준공영제 정착으로 생활환경도 눈에 띄게 개선되었다”고 전했다.
창원시에 거주하고 있는 새터민 300여 분들의 형편을 잘 알고 있고 관련 기관과 단체를 통해 지속적인 관심을 가지고 있다. 새터민 가족들에 대한 필요한 것들이 잘 반영될 수 있도록 꼭 챙기겠다며 새터민들에 대한 애정도 보였다.

이를 위해, 시는 시민에게 실질적인 혜택이 돌아갈 수 있는 내실있는 특례권한 확보와 일상회복을 통한 민생경제 회복, 수도권 일극체제를 극복할 다극체제의 거점으로 우뚝서겠다는 3대 목표를 수립하고, 이를 실행하기 위한 구체적인 전략을 마련하였다.
