브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 국민의힘 대선 후보는 안철수 국민의당 후보와의 단일화 가능성에 대해 "이걸 오픈해서 사람들 보는 앞에서 하면 진행이 되겠나. 한다면 전격적으로 해야 되는 것"이라며 "정치인들끼리 서로 믿는다면 단 10분 만에도 되는 것 아닌가"라고 말했다.
윤석열 후보는 9일 보도된 중앙일보 인터뷰에서 "서로 신뢰하고 정권교체라는 방향이 맞으면 단 10분 안에도, 커피 한잔 마시면서도 끝낼 수 있는 것"이라며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "(단일화는) 느닷없이 하는 것"이라며 "물밑에서 미주알고주알 따지는 협상이라면 처음부터 할 생각이 없다. 단일화 추진위원회 같은 걸 만들어서 협상하라고 하면 그런 건 안하겠다"고 강조했다.
이어 그는 남은 대선 최대 변수로 '단일화'를 꼽으며 "주변에서 단일화 이야기를 엄청나게 한다. 단일화가 변수가 될 수 있겠다"고 했다.
다만 13~14일 후보등록 마감 전 단일화가 이뤄질 수 있을지 질문엔 "거기에 대해서는 할 말이 없다"고 말을 아꼈다.
