[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 경상남도선거관리위원회는 오는 3월 9일 실시하는 제20대 대통령선거를 앞두고 9일 오후 2시 경남선관위 6층 대회의실에서 경상남도다문화가족지원센터와 다문화유권자 투표참여 확산 및 아름다운 선거 문화 조성을 위하여 ‘다문화가족 온라인 투표참여 홍보 서포터즈단 위촉식’을 가졌다.

위촉식에는 경남선관위 김진수 사무처장과 경남다문화가족지원센터 승해경 센터장이 참석하여 경남의 결혼이주여성 다문화리더 10명으로 구성된 다문화가족 투표참여 홍보 서포터즈단원에게 위촉장을 교부하고 SNS 등 온라인 활동을 위주로 같은 모국 출신 다문화유권자들을 대상으로 대통령선거의 제도, 투표 절차와 방법에 대한 홍보활동을 전개할 예정이다.

경남선관위 관계자는 이번 대선을 앞두고 경남다문화가족지원센터와의 투표참여 홍보 서포터즈 운영을 통해 그동안 대한민국의 유권자임에도 불구하고 언어장벽 및 문화적 차이, 선거제도의 이해 부족 등으로 참정권 행사에 어려움이 많았던 다문화유권자들의 참정권 보장과 투표편의 확대를 위해 지속적으로 노력할 예정이라고 밝혔다.
