브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 쿠팡이 대전에 신규 ‘프레시 풀필먼트 센터(FC)’를 착공하며 전국구 ‘프레시 인프라’ 강화에 박차를 가한다.
쿠팡은 대전광역시 동구에 위치한 남대전종합물류단지에 연면적 약 9만㎡(2만7000평) 규모의 풀필먼트 센터 건설을 착공한다고 17일 밝혔다. 투자금은 1800억 원이다.
이번에 착공한 남대전FC는 로켓프레시(신선식품 배송 서비스)에 중점을 둬 건립될 예정이다. 2020년 대전시와의 MOU 당시보다 투자금과 규모가 대폭 늘었다.
지난해 쿠팡은 신선식품 서비스를 강화하기 위해 신규 로켓프레시 FC를 확충하며 신선식품 물류 인프라를 기존 대비 90% 이상 늘렸다.
남대전FC는 약 2년 간의 공사를 거쳐 2024년도에 본격적인 운영을 시작할 예정이며, 이를 통해 직고용 300여 명 이상의 일자리 창출이 이뤄질 전망이다.
쿠팡 관계자는 “남대전FC가 준공되면 중부권 신선식품 물류의 허브 역할을 맡게 될 것”이라며 “더욱 신선한 제품으로 고객 만족을 높일 뿐만 아니라 대전 및 충청 지역 관련 업체들의 성장발전에도 원동력이 돼 줄 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
