충남교육감 선거에 출마한 조영종 예비후보가 2일 예산군을 방문해 지지를 호소했다.
조 예비후보는 먼저 예산군 덕산면에 위치한 충의사를 찾아 윤봉길 의사의 충의와 애국정신을 기렸다.
충의사는 윤봉길 의사의 생애와 정신을 기리기 위해 1968년에 창건했으며 1972년 사적 제229호로 지정받았다. 윤봉길 유물전시관이 1974년 마련돼 윤의사의 유품 56점이 보물 568호로 지정 보관돼 있다.
이어 대한노인회예산군지회(회장 박상목)를 찾아 인성교육에 대한 환담을 나누고, 5일장이 열리고 있는 삽교장터에서 주민들에게 인사하며 지역 교육현안을 청취하는 시간을 가졌다.
예산읍 역전로 먹거리 골목으로 옮겨 오가는 주민들에게 지지를 호소하고 예산읍 주교 6리 경로당(회장 김영상)에서 어르신들과 예산지역 교육현안 및 청소년 인성교육에 대한 의견을 나눴다.
이 자리에서 김영상 회장은 “오늘날 학생들의 인성교육이 많이 부족한 것을 피부로 느낀다”라며,“학생들의 인성교육은 교사들의 열성에서 완성되는 만큼 교원들의 불필요한 업무를 줄이고 학생교육에 매진하게 해야한다”고 당부했다.
이에 조 예비후보는 “학생교육에 꼭 필요한 업무를 제외하고는 교원들의 업무를 최소화해서 학생교육, 즉 학력신장과 인성교육에 힘쓸 수 있도록 하겠다”고 약속했다.
