한국수자원공사가 물환경분야 연구·실험실 안전강화를 위한 ‘연구·실험실 안전관리위원회’를 발족하고 첫 번째 정기회의를 개최했다고 4일 밝혔다.
‘연구·실험실 안전관리위원회’는 한국수자원공사가 운영 관리 중인 73개 연구·실험실의 일원화된 안전계획 수립과 지속 가능한 연구 안전보건환경 조성을 위한 위원회다.
관련 분야 사외 전문가들과 한국수자원공사 연구·실험실 책임자 및 재난·산업안전 담당자 등을 포함하여 총 20인으로 구성됐다.
이들은 향후 한국수자원공사의 연구·실험실 안전과 관련된 전반적인 사항을 논의 및 심의하고, 연구·실험자 보호를 위한 개선대책을 마련하는 등 다양한 역할을 수행할 예정이다.
이날 회의에서 연구·실험실 안전향상을 위한 정부 주요 정책 및 한국수자원공사 연구·실험실 안전종합관리계획 등을 공유하고 실험실 안전 공동자율관리 시행방안, 연구·실험자 안전정보 시스템 구축 등에 대한 심도 있는 논의가 이뤄졌다.
수자원공사는 위원회 운영을 통해 내외부 전문가들 간의 다양한 소통을 추진하며 위험요인을 선제적으로 발굴하고 사고를 예방하는 한편, 연구실 안전에 대한 의식도 제고해 변화하는 연구환경에 주도적으로 대응할 수 있는 안전문화 정착을 위해 지속 노력할 계획이다.
