브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 더불어민주당은 6일 코로나19 확진자·격리자의 사전투표 부실 관리 논란과 관련, 중앙선거관리위원회를 맹렬히 질타하며 관련자들에 대한 문책을 요구했다.
송영길 대표는 이날 오후 서울 여의도 당사에서 가진 기자회견에서 "선관위의 현장 준비 부족, 대응 매뉴얼 미비 등 지적할 사안이 한둘이 아니다. 선관위 차원의 대국민 사과와 함께 관련 책임자들에 대한 엄중한 문책을 강력히 요구한다"고 밝혔다.
송 대표는 "이 문제에 대해선 선거 이후에라도 분명하게 책임을 묻겠다"면서 "본투표에서는 절대 같은 잘못이 반복돼선 안된다. 선관위는 명운을 건다는 각오로 투표 관리에 만전을 기해달라"고 강조했다.
민주당이 제기한 선관위 관리 부족 문제는 ▲투표 절차를 진행하기 위한 전반적 준비 부족 ▲투표용지가 쓰레기 봉투에 담기는 등의 문제 ▲확진자·격리자의 장시간 대기 등이다.
국회 행정안전위원장인 서영교 의원을 비롯해 백혜련, 김영배 의원 등은 이날 과천 중앙선관위를 찾아 항의하기도 했다.
백혜련 의원은 항의 방문 직후 브리핑을 통해 "미숙한 선거관리에 대한 유감 표명 및 질타와 함께 재발방지 대책을 촉구했다"면서 "선관위의 사과가 있었지만 이것만으로는 부족하다고 지적하며 책임 있는 인사의 즉각적인 대국민 대면 사과를 촉구했다"고 밝혔다.

한편 중앙선거관리위원회는 6일 사전투표 부실 관리 논란에 대해 "불편을 드려 매우 안타깝고 송구하다"고 입장문을 발표하기도 했다.
선관위는 입장문을 통해 "이번 선거는 역대 최고 사전투표율을 기록할 만큼 높은 참여 열기와 투표 관리인력 및 투표소 시설의 제약 등으로 확진 선거인의 사전투표 관리에 미흡함이 있었다"면서 "드러난 문제점을 정확히 파악하고 면밀히 검토해 선거일에는 국민이 안심하고 투표할 수 있도록 조속히 대책을 마련하겠다"고 했다.
선관위는 다만 일각에서 제기되는 부정투표 의혹에 대해선 "모든 과정에 정당 추천 참관인의 참관을 보장해 절대 부정의 소지는 없다"고 선을 그었다.
특히 기표한 투표용지를 유권자가 직접 투표함에 넣지 않고 진행요원이 걷어가는 방식에 대해 "확진자와 비확진자가 섞이면 안 되기 때문에 확진자들이 투표한 투표용지는 선거사무원이 수거해서 투표함에 넣고 있는 것이다. 이 과정은 최대 6명의 각 정당에서 나온 참관인 입회하에 진행된다"고 부정투표는 일어날 수 없다고 주장했다.
