브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 대한민국의 운명을 결정 짓는 9일 날이 밝았다. 제20대 대통령 선거의 당선자 윤곽이 언제쯤 나올지 관심이 쏠린다.
이번 대선은 코로나19 상황 속에서 진행되는 만큼 개표 작업이 이전 선거들보다 다소 늦어질 것으로 전망된다. 코로나19 확진자 및 격리자 투표를 오후 6시부터 7시30분까지 진행, 평소 대선보다 1시간 30분 가량 투표 마감이 늦춰졌다.
또한 여야 유력 대선후보간 초접전 양상으로 선거가 진행돼왔다는 점을 고려하면 당선자의 윤곽은 10일 새벽 경 드러날 것으로 전망된다. 중앙선관위는 빠르면 10일 새벽 1시경으로 보고 있고, 여야 유력 후보간 초접전 양상이라면 새벽 4~5시경이 될 수 있다고 전했다.
9일 중앙선거관리위원회 발표 및 전문가 분석 등을 종합해보면, 개표는 이날 7시30분 투표 마감 후 전국 251개 개표소에서 실시된다.
현재 각 지역 선관위에 보관 중인 사전투표함의 경우 투표 마감인 7시30분 이후 개표소로 옮겨 본투표함과 함께 개봉해 개표에 들어간다.
각 투표소에서 개표소로 투표함을 옮기는 시간을 고려하면 오후 8시가 넘어서야 개표를 시작할 것으로 보인다.
투표 마감 직후 발표되는 지상파 3사 출구조사 결과도 눈여겨볼만 하다.
한국방송협회에 따르면 KBS·MBC·SBS 지상파 3사는 당일 오전 5시부터 오후6시까지 출구조사를 실시해 투표마감시간인 7시30분 그 결과를 발표한다. JTBC는 단독으로 출구조사를 진행해 발표한다.
출구조사의 예측 정확성은 매우 높은 편이다. 2007년 17대 대선 때 이명박 후보의 당선을 예측해 냈고, 지난 19대 대선 지상파3사 출구조사에선 문재인 후보의 승리도 정확하게 알아맞췄다. 19대 대선 출구조사에선 문재인 후보가 홍준표 후보를 18.1%포인트 차이로 이긴다고 예측했는데, 실제는 17.1%포인트 승이였다. 오차범위 ±0.8%P 이내에서 결과를 맞혔다.
다만 이번 대선에선 적중률이 다소 낮을 것이란 분석도 있다. 출구조사에서 잡히지 않는, 사전투표에서 이미 많은 유권자가 표를 행사했기 때문이다. 유권자 3명 중 1명은 사전투표를 했는데, 본투표일 출구조사 결과가 이를 모두 반영할 수 있을지 의문이란 것이다. 또한 출구조사는 오후 6시까지만 진행하는 만큼 확진자와 격리자 투표 결과는 반영되지 않는다.

The results of the three terrestrial broadcasters' exit surveys, which will be released immediately after the voting deadline, are also noteworthy.
According to the Korea Broadcasting Association, the three terrestrial broadcasters, KBS, MBC, and SBS, will conduct an exit survey from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the same day and announce the results at 7:30 p.m., the voting closing time. JTBC will conduct an exit survey alone and announce it.
The prediction accuracy of the exit survey is very high. In 2007, he predicted the election of candidate Lee Myung Bak during the 17th presidential election, and in the last survey of the three terrestrial broadcasters in the 19th presidential election, he also accurately guessed the victory of candidate Moon Jae In. In the 19th presidential election exit poll, Moon Jae In predicted that he would beat Hong Joon Pyo by 18.1 percentage points, which was actually a 17.1 percentage point victory. The results were correct within the error range of ±0.8%P.
However, some analysts say that the hit rate will be somewhat low in this presidential election. This is because many voters have already voted in pre-voting, which is not caught in the exit poll. One in three voters voted in advance, but it is questionable whether the results of the main voting day survey can reflect all of them. In addition, as the exit survey is conducted only until 6 p.m., the results of voting for confirmed and quarantined people are not reflected.
