충남도는 환경부가 주관하는 ‘2022년 노후 상수도 정비 추가 신규 공모사업’에 보령시, 부여군이 선정돼 국비 133억 원을 확보했다고 16일 밝혔다.
이번 공모에는 전국 46개 지자체가 총 50개 사업을 신청했으며, 환경부는 이 가운데 시설 노후도, 사고 우려, 개량 시급성 등을 따져 최종 20건을 선정했다.
충남도에서는 △보령 성주정수장 개량사업 △부여 홍산면 노후 상수도 정비사업이 각각 선정됐다.
이에 따라 보령 성주정수장 개량사업은 국비 47억 원에 지방비 47억 원을 더해 총사업비 94억 원을, 부여 홍산면 노후 상수도 정비사업은 국비 86억 원과 지방비 86억 원으로 총 172억 원을 지원받게 됐다.
앞으로 도는 국비를 추가 지원받아 신규 사업구역 내 유수율을 85%까지 향상하고 깨끗하고 안전한 수돗물 공급체계를 구축할 계획이다.
또 절감한 유지·관리 비용을 시설 개선에 재투자하는 등 수도사업 선순환을 이끌 방침이다.
한편 도는 도내 11개 시군과 누수 저감 및 유수율 제고를 위해 지난 2017년부터 1735억 원을 투입해 노후관망 정비와 블록 시스템 구축 및 유지관리 시스템 구축 등 지방상수도 현대화사업을 시행하고 있다.
