대전시의회 구본환 의원(더불어민주당, 유성구4)은 24일 대전반려동물공원 준공식에서 공원 조성을 위한 예산 확보 및 지역발전에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 대전시장으로부터 감사패를 받았다.
구본환 의원은 대전반려동물공원이 들어서는 유성구 금고동 3만2222㎡ 부지에 지상 2층의 반려동물 문화센터와 숲속 자연공원 조성에 필요한 218억 원의 예산 중 206억 원의 시비를 확보하는데 크게 기여했다.
구 의원은 지역구민의 대변자가 돼 주민 요구사항 전반을 일일이 검토해 중앙정부에 건의하고 정책으로 이끌어 내는 등, 지역 내 적극적인 주민소통을 통해 시정 발전을 위한 가교 역할을 충실히 수행한 공을 인정받았다.
구본환 의원은 “대전반려동물공원이 시민과 반려동물이 함께 즐길 수 있는 공간으로 자리매김하여 우리 지역의 즐거운 놀이터가 되길 바란다.”며, “앞으로도 주민 화합과 지역발전을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.
