브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 정부의 초대 국무총리 후보로 거론돼 온 안철수 대통령직인수위원장이 총리직을 맡을 의사가 없음을 밝힌 것으로 전해졌다.
안철수 위원장은 30일 오전 10시 기자회견을 갖고, 이같은 입장을 공식적으로 표명할 것으로 보인다.
인수위 관계자 등에 따르면 안철수 위원장은 지난 29일 윤석열 대통령 당선인과 약 40여분간 독대한 자리에서 이같은 뜻을 전한 것으로 알려졌다.
안 위원장은 현재 인수위 업무에 집중하고, 소임을 다하면 당으로 돌아가겠다는 뜻도 내비친 것으로 전해졌다.
정치권에선 안철수 위원장이 총리보다는 국민의힘 당권에 도전하려는 계획이 아니겠냐고 보고 있다. 국민의힘 당대표를 지낸 뒤 다음 대권을 노려보겠다는 계획이 아니겠냐는 것이다.
총리 후보 0순위로 꼽히던 안 위원장이 총리직을 고사함에 따라 총리 인선에는 더욱 속도가 붙을 것으로 보인다.
윤석열 당선인측은 4월 초, 빠르면 내주 초 총리 인선을 발표할 계획이다. 윤 당선인은 장제원 당선인 비서실장을 통해 총리 후보군을 보고받았으며 이 중 5배수 가량을 추려 인사 검증을 진행 중에 있다.
