유원희 천안시장 예비후보, 천안.아산 통합 추진

유원희 국민의힘 천안시장 예비후보는 12일 천안.아산을 행정적으로 통합하고 특례시 지정을 추진해 시민들에게 돌아가는 다양한 혜택 등을 최우선 목표로 삼겠다고 밝혔다.

이날 유원희 예비후보는 공약을 발표하면서 "천안과 아산은 오래전부터 걸어서 갈 수 있는 아주 가까운 이웃도시였고, 이젠 이웃을 넘어 하나가 되어야 할 때"라며 "통합의 필요성을 강조했다.

유 후보는 공약으로 ▲1,000억원 규모의 뉴딜펀드 조성 강소기업육성▲ 탄소중립 사회로의 변화를 선도하는 천안 ▲사행성 시설물 市외곽 이전 ▲전통시장의 주차여건 확충 및, 재해 취약한 부분 사전점검, 보완 등을 제시했다.

한편 유원희 천안시장 예비후보는 천안 직산 출신으로 성균관대학교 대학원 예술학박사로 지난해 9월 국민의힘 중앙당에서 충청권 유일의 인재영입 대상으로 입당했으며, 천안예술의전당 관장등을 역임했다.

유 후보는 지난주 국민의힘 충남도당에 공천신청을 한후 12일 오후 6시 면접을 치를 예정이다.
