총 투표 수 6만 8339명 중 투표결과 2만 8535표로 최종투표율은 41.76%를 기록했고, 개표결과 책임당원 투표 수와 국민여론조사 결과를 합산한 총 투표율은 박완수 후보 57.89%로 나타났다.
박 후보는 현역의원으로 출마 감산 5%를 반영해 최종 투표율은 55.00%, 이주영 후보는 총투표율 42.11%로 기록했다.
더불어 민주당 경남도지사 후보가 아직 확정되지 않은 상태에서 발표한 이번 결과로 국민의힘 박완수 의원은 세번째 도지사 선거에 뛰어 들면서 어느 때보다 당선 가능성이 높아 보인다.
이로서 난타전에 가까웠던 당내 경선이 일단락 되면서 박 의원측 캠프는 본격적인 선거체제로 들어간다고 밝혔다.
