최민호 예비후보, 故 이완구 총리 묘소 방문

최민호 국민의힘 세종시장 예비후보는 22일 선거대책 위원 및 캠프 관계자들과 함께 충남 청양군 비봉면 故 이완구 전 국무총리 묘소를 방문해 참배했다.

이 자리에서 최 예비후보는 “한 때 충청권 대망론 주역의 故 이완구 전 총리를 잊을 수 없어 찾아왔다”며 “생존시에도 이 총리가 각별하게 공적·사적으로 아껴주고 후원해주고 가르쳐 준 것을 잊을 수 없다”고 말했다.

그러면서 “오늘 이 전 총리의 묘소를 찾은 것은 평생 충청권에 대한 사랑과 세종시에 대한 애정 등 이 전 총리의 생전 유지를 받들어 반드시 6.1 지방선거에서 세종시장에 당선되어 다시 찾겠다”고 덧붙였다.

최 후보는 故 이 전총리가 국무총리 시절에는 비서실장으로, 충남도지사 시절에는 행정부지사로 근무했으며, 정치적 멘토로 여겨온 것으로 알려져 있다.
