국가철도공단 충청본부와 한국철도공사 대전충청본부가 사업의 원활한 추진과 안전 확보를 위해 업무 협약을 맺었다고 25일 밝혔다. 이번 협약은 대전북연결선 및 장항선개량 2단계 사업을 앞두고 이루어졌다.
협약을 통해 두 기관은 철도 건설사업의 원활한 추진과 열차의 안전 운행을 위한 안전관리, 운영, 유지보수 및 주요 현안사항에 대해 상호 협력하기로 했다.
또 ‘안전점검 T/F팀’ 발족해 운행선 구간이 인접하는 현장을 월별로 특별 점검에 나서기로 했다.
대전북연결선 사업은 대전 도심 북측 통과 구간 선형 개량을 위해 고속전용선 5.96km를 건설하는 사업이다. 총사업비 3,738억원을 투입해 2025년 말 개통 예정이다.
장항선 개량 2단계 사업은 신성∼주포 18.8km 신설을 통한 직선화 사업으로 총사업비 9,828억이 투입돼 2026년 말 개통 예정이다.
김용두 충청본부장은 “대전북연결선과 장항선 개량 2단계 사업을 적기에 개통해 철도 경쟁력 향상과 지역경제 활성화에 기여하겠다.”고 말했다.
