브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 박주민 더불어민주당 의원은 26일 서울시장 경선 포기를 선언했다. 박 의원은 법사위 간사이자 법안심사제1소위 위원장으로, '검수완박'(검찰수사권 완전 박탈) 법안 처리를 위한 법안소위 일정 탓으로 경선활동을 제대로 못해왔다.
박주민 의원은 이날 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "아무리 발버둥 쳐도 도저히 선거를 치를 수 있는 상황이 아닌 것 같다"며 사퇴 의사를 밝혔다.
그는 "더 젊고 다양한 서울시의 미래를 시민들께 설명드리고 싶었는데 늦어진 경선 일정과 국회 상황으로 이제는 그마저도 어렵다고 판단된다"며 "여기서 도전을 멈출 수밖에 없다"고 말했다.
이어 그는 "(검수완박 처리를 위한) 법사위 상황으로 어제 서울시장 경선 후보 토론에 가지 못했다"며 "오늘 당에서 정한 정견발표 영상 촬영 일정도 아마도 법사위 일정으로 인해 참석하지 못할 것 같다"고 했다.
