브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 문재인 대통령이 퇴임 전 마지막 특별사면과 관련, 장고를 거듭한 끝에 결국 사면권을 행사하지 않을 것으로 보인다.
3일 정부와 정치권에 따르면 문 대통령은 사면 의견이 지속적으로 제기돼온 이명박 전 대통령, 이재용 삼성전자 부회장, 김경수 전 경남지사, 정경심 전 동양대 교수(조국 전 법무부 장관의 부인) 등에 대한 사면을 하지 않기로 최종 결론 내린 것으로 전해졌다.
이들에 대한 사면 필요성에 일부 공감을 하나, 반대 여론도 만만치 않은 만큼 명분과 국민적 공감대가 부족한 상황에서 일괄 사면하는데 부담을 느낀 것으로 보인다.
3일 기준으로 사면을 진행시킬 '물리적 시간'도 촉박한 상황여서 사면은 이뤄지지 않을 가능성이 높다. 다만 오는 6일 임시 국무회의를 열어 특정 소수 인원에 대해서만 원포인트로 사면 안건을 처리하는 방안이 있긴 하나, 퇴임 직전 정치적 부담을 감수하면서까지 사면권을 행사할지는 미지수다.
더욱이 국민 여론도 좋지 않은 상태다. 한국사회여론연구소(KSOI)가 TBS 의뢰로 지난달 29일부터 이틀간 전국 만18세 이상 1012명을 대상으로 사면 찬반 의견을 물은 결과(신뢰 수준 95%, 표본오차 ±3.1%포인트, 응답률 7.4%), 이명박 전 대통령 사면 찬성 응답은 40.4%, 반대는 51.7%로 집계됐다.
김경수 전 지사 사면 역시 찬성 28.8%, 반대 56.9%, 정경심 전 교수 사면 찬성 30.5%, 반대 57.2%로 반대 응답이 더 높게 나타났다.
반면 이재용 삼성전자 부회장의 경우에는 사면 찬성 응답이 68.8%, 반대 23.5%로 찬성하는 국민이 월등히 많았다. 이재용 부회장은 현재 가석방 이후 취업 제한, 보호관찰 조치에 따라 활동이 제한돼 있다.
