이필영 충남행정부지사는 4일 대천해수욕장 인근 보령해양머드박람회 공사장을 찾아 현장을 점검하고 근무자들을 격려했다.
이 자리에는 권희태 자치경찰위원장, 윤진섭 해양수산국장, 신행철 보령시 해양수산관광국장, 조직위 조한영 사무총장 및 관계자 등 20여명이 함께했다.
이번 현장점검은 박람회 준비상황을 보고받고 공사현장의 의견을 수렴하는 한편 중간보고회때 제안된 전문가 의견의 반영여부를 확인하고 근무자들을 격려하기 위해 마련됐다.
앞서 보령해양머드박람회 조직위원회는 지난 4월 27일 충남도청 대회의실에서 양승조 도지사가 참석한 가운데 행사대행용역 중간보고회를 가졌다.
이 부지사는 주차장 설치 및 교통 계획과 화장실 설치 계획 등에 대해 보고 받고 박람회장 관람객 동선을 따라 현장을 시찰했다.
이날 조직위는 관람객이 가장 많이 몰릴 것으로 예상되는 개막식 주차 수요 8,688면보다 182면 많은 8,870면의 주차장을 확보했다고 보고했다. 교통관리인원은 교차로통제 및 주차요원 94명을 운영하고 수신호 가능 경찰과 모범운전자를 추가 배치할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

한편 2022보령해양머드박람회는 해양신산업에 대한 가치를 공유하고 머드의 미래가치를 알리기 위해 마련한 서해안권 최초 해양 관련 국제행사로, 7월 16일부터 8월 15일까지 31일 동안 대천해수욕장 인근에서 개최된다.
