‘대전의 미래를 생각하는 시민포럼’ 회원 200여 명은 9일 오후 서구 둔산동에 위치한 대전미래캠프를 찾아 이장우 국민의힘 대전시장 후보 지지를 선언했다.
포럼 회원들은 이 자리에서 “더불어민주당 허태정 후보는 지난 4년 동안 대전발전에 대한 전략도, 성과도 없이 그저 자리만 지키며 허송세월만 보낸 무능한 시장이었다”고 강조한 뒤 “이제는 145만 시민과 대전의 새로운 미래를 위해 시장을 바꾸고, 시정도 혁신해야 한다”고 주장했다.
또한 “더불어민주당은 최근 대전 서구청장 후보 ‘리턴, 돌려막기, 재활용’ 공천 파행을 비롯해 시·구의원 후보 측근 공천으로 모진 비판을 받고 있지만, 뻔뻔하게도 ‘경쟁력 있는 후보를 내기 위한 것’이라는 궁색한 변명만 늘어놓고 있다”며 “이는 더불어민주당이 유권자는 안중에도 없이 얼마나 오만하고 독선적인 정당인지를 낱낱이 보여주는 증거다. 이런 정당을 어떻게 믿고 대전을 맡길 수 있겠느냐”고 직격탄을 날렸다.
이어 이들은 “내일이면 무능력과 혼란으로 일관해온 문재인 정권을 교체해 공정과 상식의 윤석열 정부가 ‘다시, 대한민국! 새로운 국민의 나라’로 새롭게 출발한다”며 “이에 발맞춰 대전시장도 새정부와 보조를 맞춰 치밀한 전략과 강력한 추진력으로 대전을 발전시킬 이장우 후보로 교체해야 한다”고 강조했다.
