한국정직운동본부 등 대전지역 30여 개 시민단체가 13일 오후 대전 서구 둔산동 이장우 대전시장 후보 선거사무소를 찾아 이 후보 지지를 선언했다.
이들은 이 자리에서 “우리는 지난 4년 보편적 가치의 심각한 훼손과 시장의 도덕성과 자질 논란, 끊임없는 편 가르기, 기업과 청년이 떠나는 현실을 보며 안타까움이 컸다”며 “특히 인권과 평등에 대한 편향된 인식, 시벌조직을 위한 시민혈세 낭비는 실망을 가져왔다”고 비판했다.
그러면서 “이 후보는 정직과 올바른 가치로 충절의 대전을 회복시킬 자질이 있음이 검증됐고, 자유민주주의를 수호하고 올바른 가치와 정직한 권리를 지킬 적임자”라고 적극적인 지지 입장을 밝혔다.
이에 대해 이장우 후보는 “이번 지방선거에서 반드시 승리해 여러분의 기대에 부응하고, 정신이 살아있는 대전을 만들겠다”고 강조했다.
