공식선거운동 첫날, 시내버스 운전자 격려로 시작…지역 전체 후보들과 ‘원팀’ 출정식
허태정 더불어민주당 대전시장 후보가 충청권 대표 정치인으로 성장 할 수 있도록 함께해 달라고 호소하면서, ‘원팀’의 각오로 20년 만에 연임 시장 탄생을 위한 본격적인 움직임에 돌입했다.
허태정 대전시장 후보는 6?1 지방선거 공식 선거운동 첫날인 19일 첫 일정으로 새벽 4시 40분, 대덕구 와동에 있는 신대지구 공영차고지를 찾았다. ‘시민의 발’인 버스 운송노동자들과 만나 인사를 나누고, 아침 식사를 함께하면서 새벽을 내딛듯 힘찬 각오로 선거 승리의 의지를 다졌다.

출정식 발언대에 선 허태정 후보는 “코로나의 위기 속에서도 우리 대전은 많은 변화와 발전을 해왔다”면서 “갑천변이 전국에서 찾는 명소, 핫 플레이스로 변해가고 10년 넘게 방치되다시피 했던 대전역 주변은 1조 원대의 민간 투자 사업이 진행되고 있고, 혁신도시로 지정되어서 이제 원도심의 새로운 변화를 만들어 갈 것”이라고 민선 7기 성과들을 소개했다.
이어 “그동안 대전에 500억 이상 되는 사업 11개가 예타를 통과하여 확정됐다”며 “전임 민선 5기와 6기 때에 비하면 무려 3배 정도의 성과를 낸 것”이라고 덧붙였다.
이러한 민선 7기 성과와 관련해 허태정 후보는 “바로 여기에 계신 대전 시민 여러분들과 여기에 계신 국회의원 여러분들과 우리 공직자들이 함께 힘을 합쳐서 만들어낸 성과”라며 “이 사업을 완성할 허태정에게 한 번 더 기회를 달라”고 목소리를 높였다.

박범계 총괄선대위원장은 “윤석열 정부는 철도와 수도를 민영화하려 하는 등 철지난 신자유주의 망령이 이 정부에서 새롭게 태어나고 있다”며 “대전시민 여러분이 막아달라”고 말했다.
